Danny Bowman is President of Sprint Nextel's Integrated Solutions Group (ISG), with responsibility for Sprint's suite of innovative integrated communications solutions as well as the company's Nextel Direct Connect business and Boost Mobile pre-paid division.
Under Bowman's direction, ISG develops and delivers custom solutions designed to make Sprint the most trusted partner for business and public sector customers. His responsibilities include Industry Solutions (delivering vertical market solutions, providing Custom Network solutions and serving the emergency responder community); Solutions Engineering (directly serving customers with technical expertise across converged wireless and wireline platforms) and iDEN Platform Planning & Operations (developing and supporting Sprint's gold standard suite of push-to-talk solutions).
Bowman also overseas the newly formed Emerging Solutions organization responsible for developing business and consumer solutions for the rapidly emerging machine-to-machine (M2M) and mobility computing markets. Emerging Solutions offers a broad and growing range of solutions for B2B and B2C customers and partners, including "infotainment" (such as e-readers and netbooks), asset tracking, fleet management, telematics, smart grid and telemedicine initiatives.
A 20-year telecommunications veteran, Bowman is noted for consistently delivering change leadership throughout the areas that he manages. This leadership has led to the improvement of overall customer experience, simplification of the business, and the driving of enterprise value creation. Prior to his appointment as President of the Integrated Solutions Group, Bowman served as President of the iDEN business unit, with responsibility for growing push-to-talk products, services and solutions that provide instant connectivity to voice and data services for Nextel Direct Connect and Boost Mobile customers.
Bowman's previous responsibilities at Sprint Nextel include Vice President of Customer Equipment, Vice President of Wireline and Wireless Data Product Management and Vice President of Product Marketing. In these positions Bowman delivered products that accounted for double-digit annualized growth rates, led three separate reorganizations, and integrated product development and marketing functions to drive cost out of the business and improve efficiencies and effectiveness.
Prior to the merger between Sprint and Nextel, Danny served as Vice President of Wireless Data Services and various other executive functions in Sales and Marketing for Nextel. His efforts led to industry "best in class" market penetration in business and data application adoption and industry-best customer lifetime values. Prior to joining Nextel, Bowman held a range of management positions in sales and marketing with Cellular Solutions and Cellular One.
Bowman has constructed a network of industry business colleagues whose shared expertise helps to leverage partnerships that support profitable solutions to Sprint Nextel.
Bowman is a graduate of Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri, and has a degree in Business Management. He also has earned the Leadership Certificate from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Danny and his family live in Overland Park, Kansas.
